Purpose
: Find the torque of various doors
Materials
- Spring force scales, meter sticks, tape, string
Graph - For each door, graph force vs. radius.
Calculations
-
Calculate torque for each position on each door.
t = F x d
Torque = Force x Lever Arm
Questions
-
1. What does the slope of the line on the graph represent?
2. What happened to the force as you moved away from the pivot point?
3. What happened to the Torque as you moved away from the pivot point?
Conclusion
:
Purpose, results, and error analysis
